Errol is an internationally-renowned professional drummer whose musical career officially began in London during the early 1970s. His drumming roots began in Jamaica’s carnival and marching bands prepping him for a musical career which officially began during London’s jazz funk years.

He was a founding member of jazz-funk band TFB Central Line and Midnight Express and by 1980, co-founded the multi-platinum band Imagination with Ashley Ingram and Leee John. The band had many hits globally, earning four platinum, nine gold, and more than a dozen silver discs. Imaginations track “Flashback” is featured in Sony PlayStation’s Grand Theft Auto and Rowan Atkinson mimes to "Just An Illusion" in his comedy TV series "Man v Bee".

In the 1990's, Errol produced the soundtrack for the movie Soweto with Hugh Masekela, and went onto work with bands such as Odyssey, Shalamar, Rose Royce, Grace Kennedy, Jamiroquai, Frankie Knuckles, Arthur Baker, and Colonel Abraham. Since 2010 Imagination Featuring Errol Kennedy has been touring around the world playing stadiums, festivals, club venues and he continues to tour, promoting Imagination Featuring Errol Kennedy: The Greatest Hits Live album.

Currently, Errol’s creative energies are focused on his Quantum Drum Tuner business and DrumathonLIVE, a charity event he co-founded in 2020 with his wife Bev Sage of 80s groups Techno Twins and Writz. Originally created to raise funds for the NHS during the first nationwide lockdown, Errol drummed non-stop for 24 hours, he and Bev then went on to inspire a further twenty internationally renowned drummers to pick up the batons to play a non-stop drumming relay that lasted 10 days and clocked up over 250 hours of drumming.  

DrumathonLIVE 21 /22 has raised thousands more for children’s mental health whilst in the process clocking up over 750 hours of non-stop drumming. To kick start DrumathonLIVE 2022, Errol walked and drummed an epic 30 miles from DrumathonLIVE’s birthplace in Hackney to Windsor Castle raising funds for Variety, The Children’s Charity.
